DESCRIPTION: The area, Collio Goriziano Vine Santa Maria produces 100% sauvignon. This wine has a straw-yellow color with a pleasant shade of green. The Zorzon winery producing Sauvignon Collio DOC, is situated at the foot of the Collio hills in Italy. It is one of the best White Wine regions in Italy. STORY: The winery uses the ancient farming traditions from the beginning of the 19th Century in Brazzano near Cormons in the providence of Gorizia. The name "Collio" is taken from the Italian word Colli which means hillsides and describes the terrain of the Collio Goriziano region. TASTE: Intense and full of character, with hints of sage and sambuco as well as other aromas which all blend perfectly together. On the palate this wine is dry, well-structured and generous. FOOD MATCHING: Best served with risottos, tasty and complex first course dishes. Particularly suited to be served with seafood and shellfish.
